Momo are traditional Nepalese dumplings small parcels of wheat dough filled with spiced chicken, lamb or vegetables. At Annapurna East Sheen we serve them steamed with our house tomato and sesame chutney. They are one of Nepal’s most iconic dishes and our most popular starter.
Nepalese cuisine uses lighter spicing, less oil, and features unique dishes like momos and dal bhat not found in Indian cooking. While some techniques like tandoori cooking are shared, the flavour profiles, recipes and cultural traditions are entirely distinct. Our food is generally lighter and less oily than most Indian restaurants.
Dal bhat is Nepal’s national dish \u2014 eaten twice daily across the country. It consists of lentil soup (dal) served with steamed rice (bhat), seasonal vegetable curry and pickle. Nourishing, wholesome and available daily at Annapurna East Sheen.
